Our Story
From a 14′ × 20′ Building to 25,000 Square Feet
Tim's Wood Shop was established in 1985. After making furniture for ten years, Tim Crabtree decided to begin making trim. He started in a 14′ × 20′ building with a single head molder to run trim on.
The second year in business, Tim began making doors as well as trim — purchasing several more pieces of machinery and hiring his first employee. By the fourth year, an additional employee had joined the team along with more machinery, including a four-head molder. Flooring production was added as well.
By the sixth year, the shop had grown to six employees. A copy lathe was purchased to produce stair parts, with a dedicated employee hired specifically for that position.
Today, the team still numbers six employees — and combined, they bring over 70 years of woodworking experience to every project. The shop now operates out of a 25,000 square foot facility equipped with state-of-the-art machinery.

- One 36″ wide belt sander for flawless surface finishing
- Numerous shapers for custom profile production
- Rip saws and cut-off saws for accurate dimensioning
- Copy lathe dedicated to stair parts production
- Insert tooling for consistent door profiles year after year
- In-house knife grinding to match virtually any pattern
Our door patterns are all run with insert tooling, allowing us to match door profiles year after year. Standard profiles like six-panel doors are always available, and custom profiles can typically be produced without an additional upcharge.
